MAC Pigment Review: Frost

Summary:
Pros: Very glittery and bright!
Cons: The glitter gets everywhere, it's pretty sheer, and the pigment is on the chunkier side. This is not for beginners in using pigments.
Would Recommend To: Use as a browbone or cheek highlight or to mix with other pigments to give them some sparkle.
Pressable? Yes
Currently Available? No, discontinued Pro pigment.

Frost is a silver-toned frosty white pigment. This pigment is fairly chunky in texture and the glitter particles in it are quite large. This pigment can be hard for beginners to work with because it can get out of hand very quickly. The pigment however can sheer out further with a little work and can become a beautiful stark highlight on the browbone or the cheeks.

Dry, this pigment doesn't stick particularly well with the skin, but with a base it's okay. Wet, this pigment is very intense and a bit easier to apply. It has less fallout when applied wet and takes a shiny, reflective quality to it.

I would recommend this pigment as a "special occasion" pigment. I will probably mostly wear this pigment when going out at night to a club or with a matte dark eye to give it some oomph. Unless you really love rocking a glittery and frosty highlight, it's probably too frosty to wear on a day to day basis. This pigment might also be pretty mixed with lipgloss for a shimmery finish.

I also think that this pigment would be quite pretty mixed with other pigments to give them some sparkle. This would be a great way to use the pigment if you don't like working with it's poor texture and glitter overload.

This pigment is definitely on the lower quality side from what I've come to expect from MAC pigments, but that doesn't make it inherently bad. It simply won't appeal to everyone, if you love glittery, frosty colors then this pigment will be right up your alley. If you don't like glitter and frost, then this pigment isn't for you.

Until next time!
